Chicago Tribune review: 3 forks
"Don't eat fried chicken," says the health-conscious chef at
Chef Luciano/ Gourmet Chicken. This takeout spot in the
South Loop is not your average fried chicken joint (there's
only one fried option: wings.) And don't be confused either;
the building actually has two entrances, one for Chef
Luciano and the other for Gourmet Chicken--connected
restaurants with the same owner.
Entrees such as jerk chicken, fresh salmon, roasted chicken
piri piri (seasoned with the African pepper) and grilled
catfish are fresh-tasting, aromatic and much more than
anyone could finish in one sitting. Or try the pollo carbone,
a new favorite, and the Chilean sea bass. Dinners come with
plentiful sides, such as stir-fried vegetables, rice,
potatoes, black beans or garlic bread.
Hours: 10 a.m.-7 p.m., Monday through Saturday
